Liverpool's Glen Johnson, Daniel Agger expected to return to action next week

Brendan Rodgers is hopeful that Liverpool will welcome back Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson from injuries next week.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is hopeful that defenders Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger will be fit to return to the first team next week.

Agger has been out of action since early January with a calf injury, while Johnson was given an "indefinite" stint on the sidelines due to a series of injuries last month.

In this afternoon's press conference, Rodgers said: "Glen Johnson is making a great recovery, so there might be a point towards the middle or end of next week [when he can return]. Daniel Agger will hopefully be next week at some stage."

The Reds will take on Premier League leaders Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday.
