Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho: "I need to improve"

Philippe Coutinho aims to work on his finishing in order to improve his goalscoring record at Liverpool, which currently stands at 13 goals in 92 games.

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has acknowledged that he must add more goals to his game before he can be considered among European football's biggest names.

The 22-year-old has been one of the Premier League's star performers this season, although he has found the net on just five occasions in all competitions.

Overall during his two years at Anfield, Coutinho has scored 13 goals in 92 outings, and the Brazilian admits that he must continue to develop his all-round game.

"I think I still have to improve," he told the Reds' official website. "I have not improved yet. I scored a few goals last month but I need to improve.

"I have this ambition, this objective of improving finishing. In the position I play, I need to score goals to help the team and create plays. Therefore I must improve my goalscoring skills."

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
