Levante fight back to draw with Almeria

Levante secure a 2-2 draw with Almeria in their La Liga clash after going 2-0 down.

Levante fought back from 2-0 down to secure a point in their La Liga match against Almeria this evening.

Almeria opened the scoring at the end of the first half when the referee gave a penalty for Juanfran's foul on Suso. Verza stepped up and stroked his penalty into the corner.

The home side doubled their lead in the early stages of the second period when Suso hit a powerful strike past the keeper from outside the box.

Minutes later the visitors were given a way back into the game when Fernandez picked up his second yellow card of the match for a challenge inside the box on Baba Diawara. From the resulting spot kick Nabil El Zhar made no mistake.

Levante drew level on the hour mark when Pape Diop fired in a volley from the edge of the area following a corner.

The hosts had a chance to regain the lead after Rodri found himself through on goal but Keylor Navas was out quickly to deny him and ensure the scores remained level.
