Jamie Vardy determined to improve in second Premier League season

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy reveals that he is determined to improve in his second Premier League season following the strong end to the last campaign.

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has targeted adding more goals to his game in his second season in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old's form towards the end of last season was integral to the Foxes' push for survival, and he was rewarded with a call-up into the England squad.

However, Vardy has insisted that he cannot afford to rest on his laurels and is determined to maintain the level of his performances.

"I know myself that I need to score more goals," Vardy told the club's official website. "But I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing with the work rate and defending from the front – then we'll see what happens.

"I've just got to improve the areas that I need to and hopefully that'll put me in good stead for the season coming. I only played 15 minutes for England but at the end of the day it's 15 minutes for my country, so it's a massive thing.

"Once you're there it gives you the appetite to be involved even more. So hopefully at the start of the season I can push on and you never know, it might happen again. When you look at our new manager's CV it's terrific. That's what makes him stand out. Everyone is looking forward to working with him and him helping us to improve."

Vardy scored five goals in 34 appearances in the top flight last season.
