Jeffrey Schlupp: 'Claudio Ranieri keeping Leicester City stars grounded'

Jeffrey Schlupp praises the work of Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, who he believes is the key factor behind the club's star players remaining well grounded.

Leicester City midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp has claimed that the humility shown by boss Claudio Ranieri has played a major part in his side's success story this season.

The Foxes are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League table, while also boasting a game in hand over their immediate title rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Many have doubted whether Leicester - who this time last year found themselves inside the drop zone - can keep up their push for a first-place finish, but Schlupp insists that there is certainly no risk of the players getting carried away at this late stage.

"[Ranieri] humbles everyone and keeps everyone grounded," he told the club's official website. "We definitely don't want to get carried away and the way the manager has been with us has really just kept us there, kept us going and he always makes sure we keep working, working and not slacking at anything.

"I think that's important. He's called the Tinkerman but he just keeps working. We've got to trust our manager and trust his decisions. That's what he gets paid for, that's his job so we leave that to him. That's his decision so we just do what he wants and be ready if we're called upon."

Next up for Leicester is a home meeting with Newcastle United on Monday evening.
