Leicester City will be attempting to avoid setting a club record when they meet Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester City will be bidding to avoid setting a new club record when they play host to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

The Foxes are currently enduring one of their worst top-flight campaigns since winning the title in 2015-16, losing 12 of their 19 league fixtures.

Their five victories came in an eight-game period, but their run of defeats either side of those periods have undermined their efforts in the top flight.

As it stands, Leicester remain in 14th position in the standings, yet Brendan Rodgers's side only sit two points clear of bottom place.

That is courtesy of a streak of four defeats since the resumption of action after the World Cup, the East Midlands outfit netting just one goal during that time.

Rodgers has witnessed Leicester lose to Newcastle United, Liverpool, Fulham and, most recently, rivals Nottingham Forest since Boxing Day.

Two of those setbacks came at home, Leicester succumbing to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle before they went down 1-0 to Fulham.

Those results extended the club's run of losses without registering a goal to three games when including the 1-0 reverse to Manchester City on October 29.

Should Leicester lose to Brighton without finding the back of the net this weekend, it will represent the first time in their history where they have posted four successive home league defeats and not scored a single goal during that period.

On a positive note for Leicester, Brighton make the trip to the King Power Stadium having won just one of their most recent 10 league games at the ground, that success coming in 2014.

The Seagulls are also bidding to end a near seven-year wait to post four consecutive league victories on their travels.
