Antonio Nocerino targets Italy World Cup spot

West Ham United midfielder Antonio Nocerino expresses his desire to work his way back into the Italy national football team ahead of this year's World Cup in Brazil.

West Ham United midfielder Antonio Nocerino has expressed his desire to work his way back into the Italy national football team ahead of this year's World Cup finals.

The 28-year-old, on loan from AC Milan, has only played once in Italy's qualifying campaign, but wants to show that he is worthy of a place in the Azzurri squad going to Brazil.

"I hope this spell [at West Ham] will help me get back into the Italian squad," Nocerino is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

"One of the reasons I came to West Ham and to the Premier League is to play on a regular basis. My first objective is to play for West Ham and help the club move up the table."

"From that, if I am playing well and I get picked to go to the World Cup in Brazil, that will be an added bonus."

The Italian has made four appearances for the Hammers so far, all from the substitutes' bench.
