Andrea Pirlo warns his Italy teammates not to get carried away following their victory over Germany in the semi-finals of Euro 2012.

Andrea Pirlo has warned his Italy teammates not to get carried away following their victory over Germany in the semi-finals of Euro 2012.

The Azzurri booked their place in Sunday's final against Spain after Mario Balotelli scored twice to give them a 2-1 win over Germany in Warsaw on Thursday night.

Despite the triumph, the veteran midfielder has now urged the team to go on and win the final.

"We have not won anything yet," the 33-year-old told reporters. "[Not winning] would be like going to Rome and not seeing the Pope.

"We are convinced that we will have a great match against Spain, but if we want to have a chance to win, we will need to show the same spirit and desire we showed tonight and in the match against England."

Italy played out a 1-1 draw with Spain in their opening group game of the tournament.
