Neil Warnock praises "fantastic" Steve Bruce

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock hails "fantastic" Steve Bruce for the work he has done since taking over at Hull City in 2012.

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has praised Steve Bruce for the "incredible job" that he has done since taking over at Hull City.

The Tigers boss has enjoyed a memorable couple of years at the KC Stadium, leading the club to the Premier League in his first season and to the FA Cup final in his second.

A couple of days before his side's meeting with Hull, Warnock has insisted that Bruce deserved to win the Manager of the Year accolade last term ahead of the man that he himself succeeded, Tony Pulis.

"I know Tony got manager of the year but I thought Steve Bruce was head and shoulders the best manager around," the 65-year-old is quoted as saying by The Guardian. "To make a club like Hull very comfortable in the Premier League and to get to the FA Cup final - I thought that was fantastic."

Warnock was also keen to hail the support of City chairman Assem Allam, adding: "He's done an incredible job and he's got fabulous support from his chairman too. I know the chairman gets criticism but there aren't many teams in the bottom half who have had as much money put in as Hull. He's been fantastic and they've bought some very good players."

Hull and Palace meet in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
