Hull City manager Mike Phelan refuses to criticise Robert Snodgrass over the midfielder's apparent dive during the 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace at the KCOM Stadium.

Hull City manager Mike Phelan has refused to criticise Robert Snodgrass over his apparent dive during the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Snodgrass won and scored a first-half penalty to give his side the lead during the 3-3 draw at the KCOM Stadium, although replays showed that there was no contact on the Hull midfielder from Palace defender Scott Dann.

Phelan admitted that he would have been unhappy if the decision went against him, but turned down the opportunity to publicly condemn Snodgrass's actions.

"The referee is the man in the middle who makes a decision. I'm not going to pull my own player up for something that the referee gave. I'm sure Alan [Pardew] is aggrieved by it, as I probably would have been at the time, but we take what we're given at this level," he told reporters.

"[I may talk to him] next week, but right now I've just come out of a disappointed dressing room after my players showed fantastic attitude and effort. And I'm not going to pick holes in certain situations."

The draw leaves Hull 19th in the Premier League table, only in the relegation zone on goal difference.
