Hull City manager Steve Bruce: 'Peter Crouch's winner for Stoke City was offside'

Hull City manager Steve Bruce says that Peter Crouch's winner for Stoke City was offside.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has said that Peter Crouch's winner for Stoke City was offside.

Crouch's header was enough to give Stoke a 1-0 win at the Britannia, equalling Alan Shearer's record for Premier League headed goals.

"Our players were adamant they had done enough to catch him offside," said Bruce, according to BBC Sport. "We're convinced he is offside and we've seen replays which show that.

"I'm not saying we deserved to win the game but I expect the linesmen to get that right. The ball has come 40 yards, it is straight ball and he should be in a good position to get it right.

"But we didn't do enough offensively. We didn't offer a threat like we have in the away games of late. Overall I didn't think we deserved to lose the game."

Hull City are currently 15th in the Premier League while Stoke are 10th.
