Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner hopes that his side can climb up the Premier League table after picking up a "huge" victory over Bournemouth on Sunday.

David Wagner has hailed Huddersfield Town's "huge" 4-1 victory over Bournemouth after seeing his side climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.

The Terriers ended a five-match losing run in style at the John Smith's Stadium on Sunday afternoon, scoring more goals against the Cherries than they have managed in their last eight top-flight outings combined.

Alex Pritchard got off the mark with his first goal for the club and Steve Mounie was also on target for the hosts, leaving Wagner hopeful that Huddersfield can now climb back up the table.

"We've seen some fantastic individual performances from some of our players and collectively we attacked very well," he told Sky Sports News.

"It was a huge win for all of us. We said before the game that this is massive for us and that after Old Trafford we had the difficult fixtures behind us.

"Now it's time to build up momentum against opponents which are in front of us, against whom we are more competitive. But it's one thing to speak about it and another thing - and this shows character - to do it and the players have done that."

Bournemouth become the seventh team that Huddersfield have beaten in all four tiers of English league football.
