Bournemouth owner Bill Foley is reportedly keen to purchase a stake in Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley is reportedly interested in purchasing a stake in Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.

Foley's Black Knight Football and Entertainment completed a deal to buy Bournemouth from previous owner Maxim Demin in December 2022.

The 77-year-old, who also owns the NHL ice hockey franchise the Vegas Golden Knights, assumed the role of chairman after completing a full takeover of the South-coast side.

Foley added to his portfolio in January this year, acquiring a significant minority stake in French top-flight club Lorient.

Earlier this month, it was also revealed that Foley is set to become the new owner of an expansion club in the A-League.

The Australian Professional Leagues confirmed the Bournemouth owner as the preferred bidder to take charge of a side based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Should the decision be ratified, Foley will become the owner of the men's and women's teams, which are set to compete from the start of the 2024-25 campaign.

With Foley set to own a stake in three different football clubs, he is now looking into the possibility of acquiring a fourth team.

According to BBC Scotland, the American businessman is showing an interest in buying a stake in Scottish top-flight side Hibernian.

The report claims that the billionaire has been considering an investment for months and has already held talks over a non-controlling stake.

Hibernian are currently owned by the family of American businessman Ron Gordon, who had been the club's executive chairman until his death in February.

While Foley may have held initial discussions over a potential deal, it remains to be seen whether Gordon's family will consider any outside investment.

Hibernian, who are currently managed by Nick Montgomery, are currently sitting in eighth place with 11 points to their name from as many games.
