Alan Stubbs: 'Poor decisions cost Hibernian against Rangers'

Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs admits that his side did not look sharp during their 6-2 thrashing by Rangers in the Scottish Challenge Cup first round.

Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs has admitted that "poor decisions" cost his side during their 6-2 thrashing by Rangers in the Scottish Challenge Cup first round.

Despite taking the lead at Easter Road, Hibs were comfortably beaten by their Scottish Championship rivals on Saturday.

While suggesting that the scoreline flattered Rangers, Stubbs concedes that his team did not look sharp.

"We gave some poor goals away," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I didn't think there was a lot in the game, especially first half. We made poor decisions, lapses in concentration. To be honest, I'm glad it's happened today and not in two weeks' time."

Hibs start the new Scottish Championship season with a trip to Dumbarton on August 8.
