Didier Deschamps: 'We'll represent France with pride at Wembley'

France manager Didier Deschamps says that the team will represent their nation with "pride" against England following Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris.

France manager Didier Deschamps has insisted that the players and coaching staff will represent their country with "pride" in tomorrow night's friendly against England at Wembley following Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris.

129 people died when terrorists struck six different locations in Paris with guns and explosives.

Three suicide bombers blew themselves up outside of the Stade de France while the national team were playing Germany in an international friendly.

There were suggestions that Tuesday's match would be cancelled following the tragic events in Paris, but the France Football Federation wanted to continue with the game as a symbol of solidarity.

"Throughout my career as a coach, football has always had an important function in everyday life," Deschamps told reporters. "Globally, it has a strong role in society. Sport and football is a way of life in many nations.

"It is a strong symbol and players can give a great example and be role models on how to behave. The key, to my eye, is that we have the chance to represent those beautiful colours of blue, white and red and we will do that with pride."

Both sets of players will take part in a minute's silence for the victims prior to kickoff tomorrow.
