France international Kylian Mbappe was reportedly furious with national teammate Olivier Giroud after France's final Euro 2020 warm-up fixture against Bulgaria.

Didier Deschamps's side ran out 3-0 winners on Tuesday as Giroud netted a brace after Antoine Griezmann's first-half opener at the Stade de France.

Giroud's late double means that the Chelsea striker is closing in on Thierry Henry's record as the all-time leading goalscorer for France, now sitting just five goals short of the Arsenal legend's tally of 51.

However, after the friendly fixture against Bulgaria, Giroud said: "Sometimes you make the runs and the ball is not arriving. Perhaps we could have found each other better, there it is."

That comment is believed to have angered winger Mbappe, who was ready to publicly demonstrate his frustrations towards his teammate but boss Deschamps attempted to draw a line under the situation.

Speaking after the game, the manager said: "If you received the ball after each time you called for it, it is always the same. The attacker says: 'I am making runs, but it's on the midfield.'

"The midfielders will say that it is on the attackers. Sometimes, the pass isn't forthcoming, sometimes it is down the movement. But this is not a stigmatisation of Kylian or whoever."

France kick off their Euro 2020 campaign against Germany on Tuesday before facing Hungary and Portugal in Group F.
