Report: Everton begin talks to sign Ivan Perisic from Wolfsburg

Everton have reportedly spoken to Wolfsburg regarding the transfer of £8m-rated Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, who impressed during the 3-1 World Cup loss to Brazil.

Everton are understood to have made the first move in the battle to sign £8m-rated Ivan Perisic.

The 25-year-old winger is expected to be hot property after Croatia's World Cup campaign and has already impressed in their controversial 3-1 defeat to hosts Brazil.

He only joined Wolfsburg from Borussia Dortmund 18 months ago, but the Bundesliga side would apparently consider cashing in on one of their prize assets to allow them to strengthen other areas of their squad.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are among his admirers and have already spoken to Wolfsburg about a possible transfer as Roberto Martinez looks to add to his wide options now that Gerard Deulofeu has returned to Barcelona.

Perisic, who is comfortable playing on both flanks and also as a second striker, has scored 12 goals in 31 Wolfsburg starts to attract reported interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
