Everton are reportedly set to make an opening bid for Norwich City winger James Maddison, who is valued at £20m by the Championship side.

Everton will reportedly launch a bid for Norwich City winger James Maddison, but will have to fend off interest from the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 21-year-old has been in terrific form for the Canaries, scoring 15 goals and assisting 11 last season.

According to The Guardian, Everton view Maddison as a long-term replacement for the departing Wayne Rooney, who is expected to move to MLS side DC United this summer.

The report adds that Leicester and Fulham are likely to challenge Toffees boss Marco Silva for the £20m-rated midfielder.

It was reported that West Ham United had a £12m offer rejected by Norwich in January.
