Alan Stubbs: 'Ross Barkley's got everything needed to get to the top'

Everton legend Alan Stubbs believes that youngster Ross Barkley can become one of the Premier League's best players.

Everton legend Alan Stubbs has backed rising youngster Ross Barkley to become one of the Premier League's best talents.

The 21-year-old England international has started to regain his impressive form of last season having come back from injury, starring in a midfield role as the Toffees recently made light work of Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League.

"He's got everything to get to the top. I think that's the most important thing," said Stubbs, according to talkSPORT.

"He is a breath of fresh air. He's a fantastic talent and one that I hope stays injury free so we see a real talent emerge on the stage. His goal last night was just incredible. His balance, his awareness and then his power to drive into space.

"The shot was with his weaker foot. I know it took a deflection but you can't really talk about that when there were so many quality things he did to score the goal."

Roberto Martinez's side currently find themselves occupying 10th spot in the table.
