Jordi Gomez: 'Roberto Martinez will be one of the best managers in the world'

Sunderland midfielder Jordi Gomez insists that Everton boss Roberto Martinez will become one of the best managers in the world.

Sunderland midfielder Jordi Gomez believes that Everton boss Roberto Martinez has the ability to become one of the best managers in the world.

The Spaniard played under Martinez at Swansea City and Wigan Athletic, where his side won the FA Cup by defeating Manchester City in the final in 2013.

Due to his accomplishments in the game so far in his career, Gomez is adamant that the 41-year-old has the potential to manage the best teams in the world.

He is quoted as saying by The Mirror: "He gave me the chance to come to Britain, so I'm always grateful to him. At Swansea, he helped me a lot and when we were at Wigan. To be honest, I learned a lot from him.

"My year at Swansea was brilliant. He knows how to deal with players and he knows the football side as well.

"He's a very good manager already, but with all due respect to Everton, he has everything to become one of the top managers in the world."

Sunderland face Everton in their Premier League clash later today.
