Nikica Jelavic scored twice as Everton took a 3-0 lead into the break from their home encounter with Fulham this afternoon.

The Croatian striker claimed his first of the afternoon in the seventh minute. His shot from distance was blocked by the hand of Fulham's Pavel Pogrebnyak inside the area. Jelavic then stepped up to convert the resultant penalty past Mark Schwarzer.

Jelavic then went on to strike the upright in four minutes later, before Marouane Fellaini doubled the home side's advantage in the 16th minute courtesy of a header inside the area.

As the half drew to a close Jelavic claimed his 10th goal of the season when he latched onto a through pass from Steven Pienaar before sending the ball past Schwarzer.
