Jack Rodwell "over the moon" with England call

Jack Rodwell describes his call-up to England squad as "a dream come true".

Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell has expressed his happiness at receiving his first call-up to the England senior squad.

The 20-year-old, who has received a number of plaudits for his performances this season, could now be in line to make his debut in the upcoming friendlies against Spain and Sweden.

However, Rodwell has claimed that he will not be too disappointed if he doesn't feature in either game.

"I was over the moon when I was told," Rodwell told reporters. "Me and my family just all celebrated together.

"It is a brilliant experience. I have wanted it all my life and it is very much a dream come true.

"Hopefully I will get on the pitch but if not then it will just be a great experience to be there."

Rodwell has scored two goals in 12 appearances for the Toffees this season.
