Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand believes that he deserves to be a regular player among the England squad and has vowed to continue working hard to keep him in manager Roy Hodgson's thoughts.
The 25-year-old earned his third international cap in the final few minutes of the Three Lions' 1-1 draw with Italy last month.
Bertrand was only called after Luke Shaw, Danny Rose and Leighton Baines dropped out of contention during the recent international break.
"It was different," Bertrand told reporters. "The international break changed from one extreme to the next, but it was good to get back in the frame and get back in the door.
"Whoever [Hodgson] wants to pick, it is his decision. I'll just concentrate on my game. I'm confident enough to know that I should be in there, but I don't pick the team so I'll just keep playing."
Bertrand signed for Southampton on a permanent deal in January following a loan spell from Chelsea.
