As England look to take a big step towards the quarter-finals, Sports Mole previews their Group C clash with Sweden at Euro 2012.

It's all to play for on Friday evening as old foes England and Sweden meet in Group D at Kiev's Olympic Stadium.

Roy Hodgson's side got their campaign off to a solid start with a respectable 1-1 draw with France on Monday, while Sweden relinquished a one-goal lead as they went down 2-1 to co-hosts Ukraine.

Another defeat for Erik Hamren's side would see them eliminated from the competition.

Meanwhile, England can take a big step towards the quarter-finals with a first ever victory over the Scandinavians at a major tournament.

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has been widely tipped to start for the Three Lions, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain expected to keep his place in the starting lineup following an impressive display against the French.

Johan Elmander may be restored to the Swedish starting XI after missing the defeat to Ukraine with a foot injury, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been passed fit for the match after a worry over a thigh problem.

Current form:

England: WWLWWD
Sweden: LWWWWL

Possible lineups:

England: Hart; Johnson, Terry, Lescott, Cole; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gerrard, Parker, Young; Welbeck, Carroll

Sweden: Isaksson; Lustig, Melberg, Olsson, Granqvist; Elm, Svensson, Kallstrom, Larsson; Elmander, Ibrahimovic

Sports Mole says: 2-1
