CSKA Moscow's president Yevgeni Giner denies that he is about to sell Keisuke Honda to AC Milan.

Russian side CSKA Moscow have insisted that they do not need to sell Japanese international Keisuke Honda this summer, amid reports that the player is likely to join AC Milan.

Honda's contract expires in December, with CSKA saying that they would happily see the player leave on a free instead of selling him for a small amount.

"Honda is free to talk to any club at the moment and he is free to leave for the right price. Rumour has it that I've been offered £1.2 or £1.7m for him, but I don't need it," Sky Sports News quotes CSKA president Yevgeni Giner as saying.

"He's an important player for the team and will help us earn more than £1.7m if we progress through the Champions League.

"If he plays well, he'll be in an even better position to sign a lucrative deal at the end of the year. It might not even be with Milan."

Honda has scored 15 goals in 45 appearances for Japan.
