Roma director Tiago Pinto says that the Italian club are 'not worried' that Chelsea could re-sign in-form striker Tammy Abraham.

Roma director Tiago Pinto has said that the club are 'not worried' that Chelsea could re-sign Tammy Abraham.

The 24-year-old joined the Italian giants from Chelsea last summer and has been in impressive form during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 17 goals and registering four assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.

The Blues inserted a buyback clause in the deal, and there have been suggestions that Thomas Tuchel's side could look to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

However, Pinto has said that the clause cannot be activated this summer, and the Italian club are 'not worried' about potentially losing the England international.

"There's a buyback clause into Abraham contract but it's not going to be valid this summer - I'm not even worried, we're happy with Tammy and he's doing great," Pinto told reporters.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the €80m (£66.6m) buyback clause can be activated from June 2023.

Abraham scored 30 goals and registered 12 assists in 82 appearances for Chelsea before making the move to Roma to play under Jose Mourinho.
