Chelsea star Alvaro Morata ruled out of Huddersfield Town trip with 'bad back'

Alvaro Morata is ruled out of Chelsea's Premier League trip to face Huddersfield Town due to a 'bad back'.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that Alvaro Morata will not play against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night due to fatigue and a back problem.

The reigning Premier League champions will take on the Terriers with the hope of bouncing back from a 1-0 defeat to West Ham United.

One man who will not be there to help put things right for Chelsea is Morata, who has scored 10 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions.

Conte has explained that tiredness is becoming a real issue with his team due to the packed schedule that accommodates domestic commitments as well as the Champions League.

"Morata is out, because he's a bit tired and there is a problem in his back. He is out," The Mirror quotes the manager as saying.

"I think when you play every three days, it is impossible to have a training session and to work on the physical aspects. It's impossible. It's impossible because you have to prepare with the players for a game every three days.

"I think we have to face the reality and will try to do our best. If I stay here to complain it is not the right way. We have to try to do our best."

The Blues are third in the Premier League table, 14 points behind leaders Manchester City.
