Fernando Torres scores twice as Chelsea knock Championship side Leicester City out of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge.

Fernando Torres was among the goalscorers as Chelsea moved into the semi-finals of the FA Cup at the expense of Leicester City this afternoon.

Chelsea dominated the early exchanges against their Championship opponents, scoring twice within the opening 18 minutes.

First Gary Cahill headed in a corner from Juan Mata, before Salomon Kalou slotted the ball past Kasper Schmeichel following a pass from Torres.

The Spanish striker had a chance to add a third for Chelsea before the break, but Schmeichel produced a diving save to thwart the goalbound effort.

Chelsea continued to carve out opportunities for Torres after the break, but the striker's shooting proved to be wayward in the early stages.

However, in the 67th minute Torres got the ball under control inside the area and stroked the ball into the bottom corner of Schmeichel's net for his first goal since October.

The away side reduced the arrears 13 minutes from time courtesy of Jermaine Beckford, who scored following good work from Neil Danns.

Torres put an end to any hopes Leicester had of a comeback four minutes from time when he claimed his second of the tie from a Raul Meireles corner.

There was still time for Leicester to grab another goal via Ben Marshall from long range, only for Torres to turn provider in stoppage time for Raul Meireles, who made it 5-2 from eight yards out.
