Kris Commons: 'We want to wrap up the league'

Chris Commons expresses his delight at scoring a hat-trick against Kilmarnock to send Celtic a step closer to the Premiership title.

Celtic midfielder Kris Commons has expressed his delight at scoring a hat-trick against Kilmarnock last night.

The 30-year-old found the net three times in the second half at Rugby Park to extend the Hoops' lead at the league summit.

Now, the former Derby County man has set his sights on lifting the Scottish Premiership title sooner rather than later.

"I was just in the right areas at the right time. There were a few people queuing up for a goal but it was myself who got there," Commons is quoted as saying by BT Sport. "For me to get a hat-trick and get back into scoring form was good.

"We want to wrap the league up as soon as possible. We are not going to take our foot off the gas and we showed that against Kilmarnock."

Celtic are back in league action next Saturday when they host St Mirren.
