Cardiff City defender Andrew Taylor believes that he and his teammates "deserve" to be crowned title winners at the end of the Championship season.

The Bluebirds are on course for promotion to the Premier League due to their seven-point lead over Hull City at the top of the table.

"Promotion is the priority, first and foremost, but once that is secure, then our main aim will be to become champions," the Daily Star quotes Taylor as saying.

"I think we deserve to be champions. We've been the best team in the league for the majority of the season. The league doesn't lie. We have given ourselves a fantastic opportunity, but it's down to us as a group to stay focused."

Cardiff could move into the top flight for the first time in 51 years.
