Burnley are reportedly leading a number of clubs in the race to sign Bristol City defender Joe Bryan.

Burnley have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign Bristol City defender Joe Bryan.

The full-back has been contracted to the Robins since 2011, making a total of 229 appearances in all competitions, but the player has just over a year remaining on his deal at Ashton Gate.

Due to the 24-year-old's recent form in the Championship, a number of clubs - including Everton and Aston Villa - have been linked with a £6m move during the summer window.

However, according to The Mirror, Burnley are leading the race and, as it stands, appear likely to wrap up a deal before the start of their Europa League qualifying campaign.

Bryan is yet to play Premier League football, but did impress against Stoke City, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Manchester City in Bristol City's EFL Cup run this season.
