Eddie Howe: 'Bournemouth looking to buy British players'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe claims that he will predominantly sign "dependable" British players ahead of his side's maiden Premier League season.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has claimed that he will predominantly sign British players ahead of his side's maiden Premier League season.

The 37-year-old guided the Cherries to the Championship title this season with 90 points from 46 league games, but is aware that they could face a fight to survive in the top flight.

Howe told Sky Sports News: "Predominantly we will go British-based. In our situation going into a new league with so many unknowns we want dependable players that we know. I think the make-up of our squad will be British."

Bournemouth's promotion to the Premier League caps off a dramatic turnaround after being close to liquidation and relegation from the Football League just six seasons ago.
