Two goals from both Chris Eagles and Ivan Klasnic and an early strike from Kevin Davies help Bolton to their first home win of the season against Stoke.

Bolton Wanderers picked up their first home win of the season by hitting five past Stoke City at the Reebok Stadium this afternoon.

The Trotters took the lead after only two minutes in controversial circumstances. Referee Howard Webb first adjudged that Glenn Whelan had back-passed the ball to Asmir Begovic before allowing Ivan Klasnic to take the resulting free kick quickly and set up Kevin Davies, who had the easy task of tapping home.

Chris Eagles scored his first midway through the opening period, capitalising on Begovic's low clearance to calmly slot home.

A neat passing move from the home side made it three fifteen minutes into the second half, with striker Ivan Klasnic finishing from the edge of the area.

Winger Eagles scored his second of the game by dinking in, before Klasnic also claimed his brace with a close-range header.

Owen Coyle's Wanderers climb one place to 18th while the Potters drop a single position to 12th.
