Dougie Freedman "not happy" with Millwall draw

Dougie Freedman admits that Lukas Jutkiewicz's penalty miss proved to be the turning point in Bolton Wanderers' 1-1 draw at the New Den.

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has admitted that Lukas Jutkiewicz's penalty miss was the turning point in his side's 1-1 draw with Millwall.

The striker missed from the spot with Bolton leading in the second half, and Martyn Woolford made the Trotters pay when he scored a late goal to rescue a point for the hosts.

"I'm not really happy with a point because I felt that we controlled the game very well in the first half," Freedman is quoted as saying by Sporting Life. "We got a good goal with a great cross and great header. "Then in the second half we defended very well but we missed chances when we hit the post and then the penalty miss so I felt we deserved the three points.

"But because of the missed penalty Millwall upped their game in the last 15 minutes. I thought we defended pretty well during that period but because of the chances we missed we got what we deserved in the end.

"The game was going flat and if the penalty goes in we win it comfortably. But not only did we miss it, the miss energised the crowd and gave them a lift, which lifted Millwall and we found ourselves defending."

Wanderers are back in action next Saturday with a home match against Watford.
