Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson will leave the Championship outfit if they bring in Tottenham Hotspur's Brad Friedel, according to the player's agent.

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson will leave Ewood Park if Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper Brad Friedel joins the club, according to the player's agent Rob Segal.

The Championship outfit have been heavily linked with the US goalkeeper and reports have claimed that Blackburn considered a late move for Friedel before the close of the loan window.

"Paul would be totally happy to stay, he is very happy at Blackburn," Segal told the Lancashire Telegraph. "But at this stage of his career Paul wants to be playing football.

"If they want to bring in Brad Friedel that's their prerogative, [manager] Henning Berg might want to bring his own players in. If he played with Brad I can sort of understand it. If they can sort something out with Tottenham then we'll be on our way."

The 33-year-old moved to Ewood Park in 2008.
