Blackburn Rovers striker Mauro Formica claims that he wants to leave the club and move back to his native Argentina.

Blackburn Rovers striker Mauro Formica has said that he wants to leave Ewood Park and return to his native Argentina.

The 23-year-old moved to the Premier League side from Newell's Old Boys over the summer for £3.5m.

"I want to be with my daughter Rosario, I miss her very much. For me it's time to go home," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

Formica has scored two goals for Rovers this season, including one on his debut in a 2-1 loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the opening day of the campaign.
