Gary Bowyer: "I thought we were excellent"

Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer hails his team's display against Leeds as they scored three goals in the second half to claim a 3-0 victory at Elland Road.

Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has praised his side's performance in their 3-0 victory over Leeds United on Saturday.

Tom Cairney, Jordan Rhodes and Jay Spearing all found the net at Elland Road to fire Rovers to the three points and ensure that they head into their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool in good form.

Bowyer told Sky Sports News: "I thought we were excellent - very organised. We handled the occasion well after what had gone on at Leeds during the days building up to the game.

"We knew the crowd would get behind them and they gave Neil Redfearn tremendous support, but we were ruthless, which was pleasing. One or two came off with tightness but that's all. Fair play to this group. They just get on with it.

"This result has given us a massive boost before Wednesday. It is a massive challenge but we are all looking forward to it. We were leggy leading up to the international break but you saw the freshness in our play today."

Bowyer's men face Liverpool in their quarter-final replay at Ewood Park on Wednesday.
