Barnsley and Brighton are stuck in a stalemate at half time of their Championship match this afternoon.

Barnsley and Brighton & Hove Albion could not be separated in the first half of their Championship match at Oakwell this afternoon.

Both sides made a slow start to the match with Barnsley looking perhaps the more dangerous early on.

Jimmy McNulty and Jim O'Brien both saw their efforts fly past the left post for the home side before Brighton's David Gonzalez was forced into the first save of the match from an O'Brien corner.

Barnsley continued to push forward, Danny Rose coming close with an effort, before Brighton had their first chance of the game. Ashley Barnes, however, couldn't convert from 12 yards.

Barnes then had another chance, but once again couldn't find the target from Joe Mattock's cross.

Gary Dicker had the best chance of the half late on when his shot was tipped over the crossbar by David Button.

Button was again called into action minutes later when Mattock long range shot forced a save.

As it stands, the only movement in the table involving these two teams would be Brighton dropping a place to tenth.
