Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer rumours, including Jack Harrison's future amid interest from Newcastle United and a possible move for Brighton's Neal Maupay.

Newcastle United have reportedly failed with a £33.5m offer for Leeds United attacker Jack Harrison.

The 25-year-old joined the Whites on a permanent deal from Manchester City last summer and was in strong form during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 10 goals and registering two assists in 38 appearances.

Newcastle have been strongly linked with the attacker this summer, and according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, the Magpies recently placed a £33.5m offer on the table.

However, Arouna claims that Leeds have turned down the bid and will refuse to sell the forward unless they receive an offer of £39.4m.

Eddie Howe's side are believed to be confident that they will be able to come to an agreement over Harrison before the end of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, Brighton & Hove Albion forward Neal Maupay could join a Premier League rival ahead of the transfer deadline.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding the striker's future over the last few weeks, with Salernitana thought to be keen to bring him to Serie A.

However, it is also being reported that there is Premier League interest in the Frenchman, who has entered the final year of his contract with the Seagulls.

The 25-year-old moved to Brighton from Brentford in August 2019 and has found the back of the net on 27 occasions in 109 matches for Graham Potter's side, in addition to providing seven assists.

Elsewhere, Los Angeles Galaxy are allegedly keen to sign Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig this summer.

The 22-year-old is not believed to be in the plans of Barcelona boss Xavi for the new campaign, and he is widely expected to seek pastures new before the end of the window.

A number of European clubs have been linked with the central midfielder, but according to Mundo Deportivo, there is also genuine interest from North America in the shape of LA Galaxy.

The report claims that the MLS club are confident of enticing Puig to Los Angeles, but they will have to secure his signature before their transfer window closes on August 4.

The former Spain Under-21s international has made 60 first-team appearances for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher has urged the Reds to keep hold of Roberto Firmino during this summer's transfer window.

There has been speculation surrounding the Brazilian's future following the arrival of Darwin Nunez, but Carragher has said that it would be a mistake to let the experienced forward leave.

"I don't think it's a risk losing him for nothing. I have felt for a couple of years now that Firmino would see this contract out and move on for nothing," the former centre-back told Football Daily.

"I think getting £19m or keeping Firmino next season, I would probably keep him. The situation Liverpool find themselves in, they don't want to be caught short.

"I think Firmino will have a big role. Listen, [Darwin] Nunez might take time to settle and he is playing in the Premier League. And that's not just about his ability, it's about coming to a different league.

"So, I think Firmino could be really important this season and I think he might actually start the first few games of the season and I can imagine Nunez coming off the bench."

Firmino recently expressed a desire to remain at Anfield amid the speculation surrounding his future.
