Barcelona are interested in signing Neymar and it is "possible" that a transfer could go through, according to the club's former vice-president Emili Rousaud.

Former Barcelona vice-president Emili Rousaud has insisted that "it is possible" Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar will return to Camp Nou.

Neymar made 186 appearances for Barca and won eight trophies during a four-year spell at the club before joining PSG in 2017.

The Brazil international has been repeatedly linked with a move back to Catalonia, with Barca said to be working on a deal with PSG chiefs.

Asked if a return for Neymar is on the cards, Rousaud told L'Equipe: "It is possible. Coronavirus will bring about a deflation in the market and the majority of clubs will have financial difficulties.

"Barcelona do wish to bring back Neymar, that's true. We will have to see if the operation fits in with the club's finances.

"The interest is real, but it's complex. There are three parties involved: Barcelona, PSG and Neymar. If the three look for an agreement, they will find a solution. Paying in instalments, for example.

"It will all depend on the goodwill of each one and, especially, on Neymar's demands."

Rousaud was one of six Barcelona directors to hand in their resignation to president Josep Maria Bartomeu last week.
