Jordan Amavi tips Idrissa Gueye to have 'big impact' at Aston Villa

Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi believes that fellow summer signing Idrissa Gueye will be a "big, big player" for the club.

Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi has backed fellow summer signing Idrissa Gueye to make a big impact at the club.

Amavi recently joined the Villans from Nice, while Senegalese midfielder Gueye made the switch from Lille.

Having both featured in Ligue 1, Amavi is confident that his new teammate will go on to have a positive effect on Villa.

"Idrissa is a very good player. He is a really fighter out on the pitch," he told the club's official website. "He never stops working. He never stops running. He has a real will to win.

"He trains hard. He plays hard. He always keeps going. He will bring a driving energy to the team. I believe he will be a big, big player for us."

Aston continue their pre-season campaign on Saturday when they make the short trip to local rivals Walsall.
