Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert believes that reaching the final of the Captial One Cup would be "phenomenal".

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has insisted that it would be an "extraordinary" achievement if his side reached the final of the Capital One Cup.

The former Norwich City boss has seen Villa struggle in the Premier League in recent weeks and speaking ahead of their two-legged semi-final with Bradford City, Lambert believes it would be "phenomenal" if his side reached Wembley.

Lambert told Sky Sports News: "For this club to get to Wembley again would be extraordinary. In a one-off game there you just never know what could happen.

"To get there I think every player would tell you would be absolutely phenomenal."

The first leg of the semi-final will take place at Valley Parade on Tuesday evening.
