Stuttgart are in "good talks" with Arsenal over keeping Konstantinos Mavropanos on loan for another season, according to Sven Mislintat.

Stuttgart are keen to keep Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos on loan at the club for the 2021-22 season.

The Greece international arrived at the Bundesliga club in the summer of 2020 and quickly became a first-team regular - making 21 appearances in all competitions and starting 18 Bundesliga matches.

Mavropanos is due to return to Arsenal when the current campaign concludes, but according to Stuttgart's sporting director Sven Mislintat, talks are progressing well over a second spell on loan in Germany.

Speaking to Kicker, the former Arsenal scout said: "[We are] in good talks with my ex-club. We are trying to get a loan. Buying is difficult in the current situation. Now there is a bit of back and forth."

Mavropanos arrived at Arsenal from PAS Giannina in the 2018 January transfer window, and he made eight appearances for the club before originally joining Nuremberg on loan in January 2020.

The 23-year-old lasted 45 minutes of Stuttgart's 2-1 victory over Augsburg on Friday night - a result which sees them lie 10th in the Bundesliga table.
