Mathew Ryan is reportedly set to complete a permanent move to Arsenal, after spending the second half of this season on loan at the Emirates.

Goalkeeper Mathew Ryan is reportedly expected to complete a permanent move to Arsenal on a free transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Australian international arrived at the Emirates on loan in January and kept one clean sheet in three appearances for Mikel Arteta's side.

Ryan's contract at the Amex Stadium is due to expire on June 30 and therefore the Gunners will be able to snap up their first signing of the summer on a free transfer.

According to football.london, Ryan will be the backup goalkeeper to a number one, but with Bernd Leno's future in North London unclear Arsenal could re-enter the market in search of a keeper for their starting 11.

It is believed that Arsenal were interested in Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, however after the Bees' promotion to the Premier League the 25-year-old is expected to remain with Thomas Frank's side.

Ryan arrived on the South Coast in 2017 and went on to make 123 appearances for Brighton, keeping 27 clean sheets for the Seagulls.
