Arsenal are reportedly interested in securing a loan deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum during the January transfer window.

Arsenal have reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum as a potential transfer target for the January window.

While the Netherlands international only departed Liverpool on a free transfer last summer, his opening stint in the French capital has not gone to plan.

The 31-year-old has found himself in and out of Mauricio Pochettino's starting lineup with nine of his 21 outings in Ligue 1 and the Champions League coming from the substitutes' bench.

At a time when Wijnaldum is said to be open to an exit, FourFourTwo suggests that Arsenal are weighing up a loan approach for the player.

Although Arsenal are not short of options in that area of the pitch, the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mohamed Elneny may both depart the club this month.

PSG are only likely to consider a short-term departure for Wijnaldum if they cannot part ways with other squad members before the end of the month.
