Arsenal confirm the signing of 16-year-old defender Brayden Clarke on a free transfer following his exit from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of 16-year-old defender Brayden Clarke on a free transfer.

The Welsh youth international, who was born in 2007, arrives at the Emirates after leaving fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, whom he had represented since 2017.

Clarke did not make a senior appearance for the Old Gold, but he scored one goal in 18 matches for Wolves' Under-18s, playing as both a right-back and centre-back during his time at Molineux.

"Pleased to finally announce I have signed for @officialarsenalacademy," Clarke wrote on Instagram. "I'm grateful for this opportunity and honoured to be a part of this historic club. Looking forward to the future."

Following the announcement of Clarke's arrival, the 16-year-old immediately made his debut for the Under-18s on Friday evening, playing the full 90 for Jack Wilshere's side in an 8-3 win over Crystal Palace.

The teenager has already made 15 appearances for Wales' Under-17 side and wore the captain's armband for his country in a 4-0 friendly win over Bosnia-Herzegovina last month.
