Arsene Wenger: 'Alexis Sanchez is similar to Luis Suarez'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels that there are similarities in the playing styles of Alexis Sanchez and Barcelona forward Luis Suarez.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Alexis Sanchez shares similar attributes with Barcelona forward Luis Suarez.

The Chile international has had a solid start to life in the Premier League, as he notched a brace against Sunderland in his last outing to take his goal tally to five strikes this season.

Wenger feels that Sanchez has a lot of similar traits to the Uruguayan striker, who excelled in England's top flight before his move to the Catalan club in the summer.

He told reporters: "It is natural to him. Every day he wants to go out, wants the ball. He doesn't walk out, he runs out. He has a natural level of energy that is unbelievable. You would love everyone to have it but it does not work like that.

"I said many times: when you see where he comes from, where he was born, and you think he finishes at Barcelona and Arsenal, you need something special, or it does not work.

"There are similarities. Suarez sometimes gave the ball to the opponent but he gave it back straightaway. Sanchez is the same. There is no time between offence and defence. They are very quick as well."

Arsenal face Burnley in their Premier League clash later today.
