How Argentina could line up against Paraguay

Sports Mole looks at how Argentina could line up for their second outing at the 2019 Copa America against Paraguay.

Argentina are aiming to avoid back-to-back defeats to start a Copa America tournament for the first time in 40 years as they take on Paraguay in Belo Horizonte.

La Albiceleste lost 2-0 to Colombia on Saturday and are bottom of Group B ahead of this clash with Paraguay, who let slip a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Qatar in their opening match.

Lionel Scaloni may be tempted to ring the changes following his side's early-competition setback, knowing that there is now little margin for error.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Argentina could line up at Estadio Mineirao.

Possible ARG XI vs. PAR

Sergio Aguero has faced calls to be dropped after firing another blank last time out, leaving him with a return of three goals in his last 23 competitive matches for his national side.

Scaloni has showed faith in the Manchester City striker in the past, however, and that is expected to be the case on Thursday.

Having been hauled off at half time in the defeat to Colombia, meanwhile, Angel di Maria now faces a battle to win back his place.

Should Scaloni opt for a more solid four-man midfield then Rodrigo de Paul, the man brought on for Di Maria, is a contender to start.

Elsewhere, Paulo Dybala, Matias Suarez and Lautaro Martinez are all pushing for a place in the side, but opportunities are limited.
