Lyon advance to the final of the Coupe de France after a 4-0 victory over Ajaccio.

Lyon have advanced to the final of the Coupe de France after a 4-0 victory over Ajaccio on Tuesday.

It was the away side who started the better and Kim Kallstrom might have opened the scoring after three minutes, but he fired wide from close range.

Ajaccio came closest in the opening period, however, when Mickael Colloredo smashed the post from inside the box.

Lyon also tested the woodwork through Jimmy Briand after 13 minutes, with both sides playing out a lively opening.

Ajaccio were reduced to 10 men after 38 minutes, however, when Anthony Colinet was dismissed for a reckless challenge on Alexandre Lacazette.

Briand might have handed Lyon a lead as the half entered its latter stages, while Kallstrom struck the bar from distance as it remained 0-0.

Ajaccio so nearly took the lead moments into the second period courtesy of Nicolas Verdier, but he tested the woodwork once more.

Eventually the deadlock was broken after 59 minutes, and it went to Lyon when Lacazette finished from close range.

Lyon added their second of the evening after 73 minutes when Lisandro Lopez finished from close range.

Henry Gbizie might have cut the score to 2-1 in the latter stages, but he fired wide from close range.

Clement Grenier added the away side's third with 10 minutes remaining, while Bafetimbi Gomis made it four in the final moments.
