Phil Taylor to meet Dave Chisnall in Grand Slam of Darts final

Phil Taylor will meet Dave Chisnall in the final of the Grand Slam of Darts after both came through their semi-final ties against Mervyn King and Kim Huybrechts.

Phil Taylor has remained on course for a sixth Grand Slam of Darts title after he powered past Mervyn King in the semi-finals on Sunday afternoon.

The 54-year-old won 13 successive legs in thrashing Michael Smith in the last eight on Saturday night and it appeared as though he would complete an equally ruthless performance when taking 12 out of the opening 14 against King.

However, with the finishing line in sight, Taylor missed as many as eight darts for the match as King got back to 15-9 before the Stoke-on-Trent thrower checked out 68 to move through to a showdown with Dave Chisnall.

Chisnall found himself 5-2 up in the early stages against Kim Huybrechts, but the Belgian fought back to lead 11-9 as the contest headed towards a conclusion.

Former Lakeside runner-up Chisnall rallied for a 15-14 advantage only to see a shot at the bull to complete a 161 checkout go begging.

Huybrechts took the match into a last-leg decider, in which Chisnall finished 86 in two darts with his opponent waiting on 58.
